Red face sounds cool..

..but a little pricey at 900 bucks plus shipping - if any uk companies start doing a modded version of this machine I would be more tempted - a bit more reassuring when you know someone is within baseball bat distance if things go wrong

cheers

Have a look here for a PAL Prog-Scan from UK supplier Techtronics.

Draw your own conclusions about their claim of "PAL Progressive Scan (the only one of its kind currently available)".

Also I would urge you (and anyone else) to search Techtronics on this forum as well, you'll quickly see why.

Cant be bothered wasting time on this company, but shop there at your own risk. Even when people are warned about their non existant after sales sevicethey still do, on their heads be it.

This thread from the dvd forums may be of interest re prog scan on the 747.

http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/s...ogressive+scan

Bought my 747 from Home cinema Heaven and also my Amps good service and aftersales so far. I'm hoping they come up with something because I have no hesitation in using them again.

Sorry John, not plans at minute. Looked into it. Requires a couple of SMT resistors removing and some tracks cutting, before you even install the required additional micro, components and wiring! Not a software firmware upgrade, nor does such a thing exist currently! As such Pioneer won`t honour the warranties from us as a dealer if we do the above, so no point offering it.

Some customers might be happy having any faulty DV747A PAL mod machines inhouse or via a service center with extra delays without a machine, rather then how we normally sort "faulty" machines (test inhouse, then usually back to Pioneer for repair or swap under warranty). Just not prepared to let our CS suffer due to delays or expensies incured! May offer it as a install but no warranty upgrade to existing owners though!
