Teac DV-H550

Hi, I recently bought the above DVD player and matching (AG-H550) receiver from Ebay. The are in excellent condition, but came without a manual(s). I am having probelms trying to get the DVD player to give a digital output to the receiver. I have tried both co-axial and optical to no avail. I connected up a Packard Bell DivX player, and after setting up the output through the menu, this works fine, with the receiver detecting both optical and co-axial outputs. I cannot see any red light from the optical cable when connected to the Teac DVD player, but I can with the Packard Bell. Is there some way of switching the output from the DVD player? I have only one remote, I assume it's the do-all one tha came with the receiver. Also, I cannot find any owners manuals anywhere on -line at all.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Make sure you have the DVD player audio settings switched to STREAM or BITSTREAM and switch all audio options from PCM to Dolby Digital and DTS.
That should sort it.
