Multi region?

Hi ,
Probably a silly question, but can anyone tell me if my DVD player is multi-region before I buy a Region 1 DVD off ebay? (I have previously restricted myself to buying Region 2 (UK/Europe) DVDs as I wasn't sure if any other disc regions were compatible with my DVD player/plasma screen....
Make: Yamaha
Model: DVD S540
Can I play Region 1 DVDs on this player connected to a standard UK plasma screen TV (Hitachi 32PD5000)?
Thanks,
Chris

It won't have been supplied MultiRegion. Depending on where you bought it, it might have been modified for you. Otherwise, you may need to get it modified. I suspect it may be done using a specially coded remote control.

So, you could take the risk on the disc - or just borrow an R1 title from someone. Either way, you should get it "fixed" if necessary. Although it's not listed (yet?) you could try http://www.dvdchips.co.uk/

Or, even, it's own remote and a secret key combination. Sorry about that; try the hack.

Ta,

I presume you must still have the original remote control though? Use the original remote to do the hack, then continue using your one4all as normal.
