Reoc A5 feedback (not good)

eek We'd decided to buy our first DVD player, and chose the Reoc A5 as it seemed to get good reviews (and we don't need DTS) but 3 units later we've given up.

Problems varied from total freezing at layer change, pausing at random, returning to menu mid play, refusing to respond to controls and just playing dead etc. To be fair, the first 2 had a superb picture, and the DTS downmix to Pro Logic sounded great through the amp, but no good if it doesn't play properly. The 3rd was just a pixellated mess with some very weird sounds.

Having wasted £15 on rentals we gave up and are now looking for something a bit further up the ladder. Be warned.

makes you wonder why they are so cheap, and only supermarkets sell them!

Read about it today and now having read your post, I think I should stick to the slightly dearer Tosh210..... though that was launched more than 12 months ago
