Philips DVP5900 or Samsung HD950?

I have a Samsung LE32R41B and cant decide between both of these HDMI players. I've read quite a bit on both and they both seem to have there problems.

So, does anyone have the same TV as me and what HDMI player are they using?

I was thinking that maybe the Samsung HD950 would look best through HDMI on my TV as my TV is also a Samsung...

They'll both look great mate. I have a LE32R51BD.
I went for the Philips cause i heard too many irritating flaws for the Samsung one (like the annoying "HDMI Audio not supported" messages every so often). And apart from the surround sound thing which has been fixed with the new firmware, the Philips is just perfect.

1 Vote for the Philips 5900!

I have a Samsung TV (not the same, it's a HD Rear Projection TV) and was in the same quandry for quite a while.
I decided on the Philips DVP5900 and have been using via HDMI and Co-axial connections with no problems at all.
I didn't really like the strange colour of the Samsung 950 and read more people having problems with this one.
Not many people have had problems with the Philips at all (just some audio problems with certain amplifiers) which hasn't affected me, so I'm happy.
It was so easy to update via their website and took 3 seconds to do the multi-region handset hack.

Oh by the way, just to save me 8 hours of browsing through the big thread, what's the hack again? THANKS!

I couldn't help but notice that you have the same TV as me. I was just wondering what your opinions were of this Philips DVD player with the tosh? I'm currently using the SD350 and whilst the picture is very good, i can't help but feel there is better. Can you recommend the Philips?

Many thanks
