Pio 575 worth upgrading for LCD?

I have a pioneer 575 atm,my 32" HD LCD comes tomorrow and i was just wondering if it is worth me upgrading my player? Its just that i noticed slight blockiness when viewing on my 32ZP48 crt?

And when i pause, the blockiness is even more apparent?

So i was thinking it would be worse on an lcd?

I hear alot of good things about Denon,my budget is £250 maximum, ideally £200.

Are you using the component outs? If not then give them a try.

I'd be amazed if the Denon looked much different. Pio 575 is a very solid performer.

yes, component progressive scan.Still looks a little blocky to me,although i am very picky and wear glasses,so every little flaw is more apparent for me.I wish i was'nt picky but thats just me.

So... anyone recommend a decent player in the £250 range that would have better picture than a 575?

Ok.

I will wait and see how it performs, maybe the blockiness was the tv and not the player? Anyone else notice the blockiness (especially when in pause mode)?

I watch the 575 on an 83" screen and I don't see any blockiness.

I do have BNR (Block Noise Reduction) set to "on" though.

And try sharpness set to "Fine" too.

I have a Pioneer 575 hooked up to a Loewe Xelos A32 via component and the picture is excellent.
Blockiness or other artifacts is mainly down to the quality of encoding on individual DVD's. And in pause mode DVD's will always look a bit blocky.
