Problem with pioneer 989 + sanyo z2

Just got my new pioneer 989 2 days ago
and now i'm having problem getting it to show picture on
my sanyo 2z projector.

The dvd player needs at least 10-20 minutes to scan through
the resolution pass through the projector.

Have anyone got problem like this or knows what to do?
