I got a Toshiba 350e from Richer Sounds before Christmas, and will be returning it this week as it has an annoying habit of freezing for 5 seconds after approximately 45 minutes of viewing, and the totally crashing after another 20 minutes.

Personally I think the problem is due to my set up requiring the DVD player to be enclosed in a tight space as it gets very hot before it falls over.

So if you're looking at buying one of these but don't have adequate ventilation then I would give it a miss.

On a more positive note, does anyone have any suggestions on what I should swap it out for? the Denon 1920 looks like a good bet as I would prefer a HDMI connection.

I wouldn't be too quick to blame ventilation. Freezing & locking up is what the 350 is becoming infamous for , and the reason I never bought one. Have a read of the Denon 1920 threads too which will enlighten you to a lip sync problem, although it seems nowhere near as common as the tosh freezing.

my 360 and tosh were in the same stand, both have ventilation all around, the tosh still crashed, i never tried watching a movie without the upscaling so that may be why

my 360 has never crashed btw
