Pioneer Laserdisc analogue sound problem

Can anybody help??? any 'old-timers' out there that still use laserdisc

the problem is that i cannot play laserdiscs in the ANALOUGE format... digital is fine, on both optical and coaxial outputs. AC-3 works just fine too.
i can just hear some minor sounds when the amp volume is on max!!!
all internal connections seem sturdy and good.
The player is a pioneer CLD-959 (jap version of elite cld-97?), amp is pioneer VSA-E07. the player has been aftermarket modified to output AC-3, could this be the culprit. the player was bought second-hand so ive never known if it worked in the past.

Can someone offer any advice as at the moment i cannot listen to some much loved old pioneer/rca disco-vision discs!
heres hoping and thanks.

My ac3 modded 959 output analogue fine, if that is any help. You could try speaking to videotek about a fix for this quality player.

have you connected the analogue outputs from the player to an analogue input on your amp.if not then that is probably the reason.

Yes, 2 pairs of analogue out to 1 x analogue in & 1 x 5.1 ext.in on amp.

Have just managed to get a reasonable sound output by changing the vsa-eo7amps on screen MENU display to NTSC!!!!!
its daft but now at3/4-full volume on the amp i can listen to the discs.

Hi new member here, a friend of mine brought round a CLD-959 which had been modded wih AC3 to see if it was modded properly but found the analogue sound was not being outputed anymore through my amp, my CLD-99 works fine. id recommend videotec having a look like Nick Rhodes said.
