problem

Hi
I`m having problems recently with viewing dvds. When there is no "action" on the screen, all is good but when, for instance,a bad starts playing or a car chase starts, the picture pauses for a split second but continues every few seconds,if you know wha I mean.I`ve tried both my players and still the problem persists.I thought it may be a bad batch of dvd-r`s but it happens with original dics as well.
I also recently bought a scart switching block(manual) because I needed the rgb facility for playing back-ups on my PS2.ie. NTSC versions
Could this have anything to do with it?
Thanks
