Help with using JVC all in one as s/sound for new dvd player

Help with using JVC all in one as s/sound for new dvd player

Hi, I have a JVC TH A10R all in one dvd/5.1 dolby surround sound, im getting a new hi def lcd tosh 37wlt58 and want a hd dvd player, my question is can i connect the new dvd to my JVC to use as an amp and get the surround sound, i want to because all the canling is under the floor and its not practical to change this at present. Can anyone help with the connectors I would need to do this effectively, i intend to connect he dvd to the tv via hdmi. I can pro0vide a list of the availble connections on the JVC if this helps. Thanks in advance, I am sure this is a rellay stupid question but im quite new to this forum....
