best HDMI DVD Player for my plasma - HELP

Hi

I recently purchased an HDMI DVD Capable player for my new plasma. The DVD Player i got was cheap, Samsung HD850.

My plasma - is the 436XDE.

Can people recommend me a good quality DVD Player, is the Samsung ok, or not. Willing to pay upto £400 for a good DVD Player - needs to be multi-region as well.

Thanks all your help

the oppo is getting good reviews and is only 199 us dollar, I heard the marantz 7600 is a great machine but about 600 pounds, also one guy recommended the pioneer 989 but i dont know the cost of that one.

I'd also be interested in people's opinions on this as I've just got a 436XDE. My budget would be around £500 to replace a Harmon Kardon DVD25.

Have got the Denon 1920 and am very pleased with it, running it with an HDMI cable to the plasma.

There is a hack for it to make it multi-region as well if that floats your boat.

I'm looking to get the Sony NS92V. Looks pretty nice for around £175.

Cheers

Ps. Where the hell are these quick reply icons it asks for now?

Denon 1920 - via HDMI.

Hope you've adjusted those factory settings on that 436XDE, do it now to avoid any burn/image retention issues.

I am running for the first 200hrs with

contrast 22
brightness -3
colour -10
tint about (+4 to the green)
DRE Off
Gamma 1

Its not a good picture at all at these settings, and quite flat and dark...

this looses alot of the detail in dark areas, but I will run it like this for the first 200hrs for now... - upto 44hrs at the moment after 5days of use......
