Yes as Nic says it will work but unfortunately as you adjust the volume on your receiver it won't do likewise on the sub, instead you'd have to adjust the sub's own gain control each time...PJ

chestnut, you have been given the answer twice already, yes it will do the processing, but you will need a voulme control. Without it I expect the volume to be so high it will cause either hearing damage or more likely it will destroy the sub.

But yes it will do the processing

So volumes the only problem. I just need to adjust the volume on the sub and amp each time i want to change the setting.

Nick didn't expalin properly why theres a chance of blowing the sub. Looks like he's got very little patience and needs to cool down.

Kind regards

In the past three years I have seen 2 subs brown up by what you are proposing and one user who tried, only to not use the system as it was so unfriendly. All decided they could do this despite my advice. All had studdied Ohms law..... The latter was simply solved by a cheap receiver and the guy is happy. One of the other guys is still badgering me to fix his 'pride and joy'. I have refused due to his stupidity despite good advice.

You asked will it help? and anyadvice appreciated. You didn't ask for the risks to be explained to you. Both of you questions were answered.

If you have am amp why do you want to risk catastrophy? seems daft to me but hey what do I know about these thing
