Philips DVP3005

Hi
Just bought this player to connect to my new Dell LCD TV via component cables.
If you turn the player off it doesn't resume playbackfrom where it was on the disc, just goes back to the begining.
Is there anyway to sort this out else I'm gonna have to take it back?
Thanks
DBS

Isn't this what it is designed to do?

Not quite sure what you mean by this, but I'll assume you mean it's not designed to resume play after being switched off.
After an exhaustive search and much fiddling I admit defeat.
Every player I've ever used has had this function so I didn't even think to check up on it before purchase. It's the same as not bothering to check if it comes with a remote.
As for what it's like Slowpoke, the progressive scan didn't look as good close up as without. But the player performed fine and the multi region hack worked well too.
The player looked well worth the money, I'd have kept it were it not for the lack of resume.
Thanks
DBS

Many machines don't have this feature you talk about though I for one find it useful. The player is surprizingly heavy for a cheapy as well. I was tempted in the shop the other day as well!!

No you have to buy the cables seperately.
If you go to Currys they do a really decent 1.5m component cable made by JVC for £9.99. Currys also do this player for £40 if your interested.
No I don't work for them, I bought the player from Argos so it can be returned easily.

That's interesting you say that, I use it all the time especially when watching TV series on DVD. There's nothing worse that having to try and find your place each time.
I'll hold on to the player for the time being while I'm looking for something better.
If anyone has a sugestion of a DVD player with progressive scan component output, multiregion, small, with resume and under £60 let me know.
