Question component video cables

currently own sony 735d dvd player hooked up to sony tv via good quality rgb scart will soon be purchasing toshiba 36zp18 tv which has component video inputs. please could someone advise me will component video leads clearly improve the picture quality?
if so can you use normal phono leads or do you have to buy specific component leads? lastly roughly how much for a adequate cable and can they be purchased from the likes of comet etc

A 3xPhono , 1 m (should be coax) from 10 to 15£ and up..
