Denon DVD 3910 VIBRATIONS

I own this player for about 2 weeks now and experienced for the first time
following problem . When playing a rented DVD ( Miss Congenality 2 ) the disc started to spin fast causing the player to vibrate heavily . I had to open it up again as it would not load .I switched over to my DVD recorder where the DVD played without any problem .
After watching the movie , i reloaded the disc in my Denon and the vibrations where less , disc loaded and skipping to the 3th chapter the vibrations disappeared. Did anyone experienced the same ? What could be the cause ?

the 3910s drive is know to be very sensitive. So unless it happens with a fair few disc i would not worry too much.
I take it you did not notice any labels on the disc as this can cause a balance issue that i have known the 3910 to suffer from.

Just keep an ear out for it and if you it notice occuring more frequently then get it seen to.

aye, rental discs often have labels on which unbalances the discs, high end machines are often notorious for this upsetting them......whereas cheap machines and cheaper DVD-R/+R recorders usually have DVD-ROM drives from computer component manufacturers that dont care what disc is shoved in to them as they have to cope with all manner of disc types.....

my 3910 has on the odd occasion found a disc a little unbalanced and i've gotten a bit of rumble, however its never failed to load the disc and play it ok.....

May help to make sure that the centre hole is smooth - just scrape a little with a knife.

This was a problem with Kingdom of Heaven 2 disc edition, but the above worked a treat.
