Help me (2 dvd players to sort)

Hi guys, sorry for yet another "noob" post from me but here goes.

(I am looking to choose a good dvd player for my Samsung SP50L6HX which is arriving in 3-4 weeks time)

Okay, my main dvd player is\was a PIONEER DV-444 (not too bad) but a few days ago it started to fail, the laser is dying, and it keeps failing to read disks etc, so its pretty much ready for the bin. (its not dirty, as it reads certain kinds of disks, but not others)

I opened it up, and no way am I even gonna bother touching it lol, its sooo complicated inside.

Anyway, is my "dead" dvd player worth doing anything with? as it doesnt have composite etc (I thought it did, but it hasnt lol)

Now, I picked up a cheap dvd player from town, its a "CELLO DVD-102" It only cost me £18, and seems to play any kind of disk I throw in it. I expect its a piece of crap, but I was wondering if its any good? it seems to have quite a few plugs\sockets on the back, please see attached pic.

Is this cheap dvd player even worth plugging into my Samsung HDTV when it arrives? or shall I just order a new "proper" dvd player.

Please have a look at the pics below, and let me know if this cheap pos is even worth bothering with lol, thanks. If it is INDEED crap, then please recommend me a good\new dvd player.

I don't see what harm you would do by trying out your cheap DVD player with the new TV.

Hi,you dont say whether the Samsung is an lcd, plasma or dlp rear projection.Imo neither of the players you mention will do your Samsung HDTV justice.May I suggest you post the make and model in the appropriate forum and ask which dvd player.I am sure you will get lots of recommendations for suitable players
I hope this helps
