Can't Play Any Dual Layer DVD's On My Player Anymore!

Can't Play Any Dual Layer DVD's On My Player Anymore!
My dvd must have something wrong with it as I can no longer play any discs I have brought that are dual layer format.

It will spin normal ones so there is something wrong with it.

What component in the unit would be at fault?

It's an old Sony DVPS-7000 reference player had it for 6 years.

I should also add that in order to solve a problem like this involves playing with the drive reallignment in the service menu. However, I am not a technician so have no idea what constitutes a re-alligned drive.

If anyone has any help greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about dual layer discs you have burned or commercial dual layer pressed discs ?

Commercial ones. Never used burnt DL's.
