looking at the spec and it says progressive scan and in brackets ntsc. Does this mean none on pal? Are these machines really built for the us market and pal an afterthought? Shame if so as it looks a nice machine

No it will do both pal and NTSC progressive, and will upscale both to 720p or 1080i on the HDMI output.

got a matantz dv9500, 7600 bigger brother. Brilliant machine.great video and audio. PAL and NTSC progressive through components and HDMI. Not to mention Upscaling to 720p and 1080i.

The 7600 and 9500 are identical video wise, but the 9500 audio section has been beefed up!!

I not worried about the music side but i had a chance to see the dv9500 today and very nice it was two running on a 435xde.The picture looked really good, best i seen upscaling to 720p.It looks like the video side is the same as the 7600 so its convinced me into getting one as soon as they released.

The DV9500 seriously rocks.

I was going for a DV7600 myself but just could'nt wait till June.

The DACs are different but I'm not so sure this will make too much of a difference if you use the HDMI output as it doesn't pass through the DACs.

There are a few differences to the audio side of things between the two players but I think its a safe bet they will both be excellent players!

You won't be able to take advantage of the players upscaling ability but the 576p output is still excellent.

Well looks like i'm waiting again to see what this player is like. There seems to be so much problems with firmware on dvd players. Is it just the high end ones?

If just using it for DVD playback... is the 7600 better value than the 9500

What outstanding features of the 9500 has that the 7600 lacks? 14 bit & 12 bit? significant on a plasma?

Cheers!
