I noticed in somebody else's post a reference to this upgrade being available from Denon.

2 questions:

1. What does the upgrade achieve/fix?
2. How do you get it?

There are several reasons for geting a firmware update.

It fixes any problems (much like a patch does for PC software.) the DVD player may be having as well as offer any new upgrades.

The main reason though is to make the DVD player multy region or "MR". (meaning you can play any disks from any country)

I beleive the latest Denon 3910 firmware is number: 6609-9 which enables MR as well as enabling 5.1 sourround through the HDMI conection on the player.
Im sure it does other things too, but i dont know what else at this point as it just came out!
