Progressive over Scart...

I have a new Sony DVP-NS955 DVD player and a new Phillips 32PF9986 LCD TV - what I would like to know is can I get a progreesive signal from my DVD player to the TV through a scart as the manuals really dont explain anything and im a complete newbie to progressive!

I have purchased a couple of good scart leads at a cost of £35 each for my freeview and DVD player. So if progressive cannot go throught the scart will I really notice the difference between RGB and progressive?

Cheers for any info guys!

Regarding the difference between RGB & progressive, consensus seems to say that progressive is better but by not a huge margin. With my setup, the difference is minute but it is there. It can be difficult to tell the difference on normal images, I tested the difference by rolling some credits from a DVD and checking the ‘jaggies’ on the text. By flicking between the 2 I felt that progressive definitely had the edge.

It is with all dvd players I'm afriad, if you want progressive you'll have to get a player with component outputs.

Yep sorry, forgot to mention that. Without a progressive compatible tv you won't reap the benefits.
