I have a Grundig gdv 220.
I have 4 region 1 dvd's.
They are :
Dantes peak, Jurrasic Park, Twister and The Haunting.
Only Dantes peak works. The others come up with the error message "wrong region".
I used the remote hack of 0 1 2 3 play.
I also pressed return and then play to bring it back to region 2, and still Dantes peak played. I am baffled. I have been told they should play, but alas no joy.

From what you describe, I think that:

1) Your "hack" isn't working and your player is remaining resolutely Region 2
AND
2) Your copy of Dante's Peak is actually coded to include R2. Maybe it was mastered for distribution in Japan as well as the US. It's not the DTS version, is it? The only reason I ask is because many early DTS titles from this studio were actually R2 compatible.
