Very good generally!

I have a DVD-2800 and had thought of a Sanyo to pair with it. I am not as sold on the Sanyo as some because to me it has too much 'screen door' i.e. a mesh-effect on the screen from the pixel structure of the LCD panels. Currently thinking of a DLP of some sort....

I have seen the comments about the playback being 'soft'. Not so sure about this, as you can tweak the player to be much sharper. However the more 'sharp' your picture the more artificial and digital it will look. For 'soft' I would read 'filmlike'. I am very pleased with it as a player for both video and audio overall.

I got mine from a german company for £580 delivered and hacked it myself. www.mediacheckpoint.com www.geocities.com/denondvd
if you're interested. Most UK online retailers have a decent price now so would be worth shopping around.

Hope this helps.

Oh yes...layer change is totally instantaneous and I would be very hard pressed to say where changes are now.
Why don't more players have an internal buffer? (4MB in the Denon)
