Are you only looking for a DVD player, or also an amplifier and speakers? If you need amplification and speakers, how "tidy" does it need to be. By that I mean would an all-in-one very cute looking package be preferable to a larger, multi-unit setup that sounds better?

Do you have a budget in mind? DVD players start at around £130 and usually tail off at around £1100 for the high-end models (ignoring the Tag McLaren Audio at £4k!).

Cheers,
Liam

I would rather say High-End models start at GBP1100 or more, like the Tag you mentioned and e.g. Proceed PMDT (USD5000 or somewhere around there) and Theta, Meridian etc.

But nevermind, gzaman, give us some more details and a budget so we can give some advise.

Reiner,

Yeah, I meant to say that most top-of-the-range models from big manufacturers (e.g. Denon, Sony, etc) were around £1100.

Cheers,
Liam

Understood, wasn't meant to criticize or anything like that anyhow but unfortuntaly most people think that GBP1000 is the most you can spend on a DVD player ...

Top-of-the-range sounds btw much better.

Don't worry Reiner, no offence was taken.

So, gzaman, any thoughts?

Cheers,
Liam
