Well.. the pic/sound of the Arcam is great. The remote sucks and the only other remote which can read the IR codes is the pronto.

But the pic/sound quality are amazing.
BUT it has a few bugs in the software at the mo such as sound dropouts on some tracks.

Swings and roundabouts..huh.
And if course it is multi region out of the box!

So if they can sort the bugs outz then itd the best else I would go for the Sony (but of course it costs more)

Hope it helps

Matt

Arcam. It's a no brainer.

Bought a DV88 today. Pic and sound on DVDs is amazing.
CD sound is very good too - i'm replacing my Marantz CD63SE KI Sig. CD player with the Arcam. Its a little bit crisper than the Marantz with maybe not quite as much bass, although having said that i havent had it running long enough to "burn in" yet, and the Marantz is known for being slightly "warm" rather than "crisp".
Yes the remote is a bit fiddly, but when i'm watching a film, i am watching a film - not playing with the remote!
Highly recommended.

I would like to point out that the Denon AVR3801's remote reads the DV88's codes well....

Arcam DV88, Denon AVR-3801, Mission Cinema 6 (awaiting Sony KV32FQ75S TV)
