Philips 625 help

i was wondering if someone might be able to help me with a little problem as i don't know much about this kind of thing.

i have had my dvd player (philips 625) for over a year and it has not been heavily used. I have recently noticed that there is a red cast at the top of the screen when a DVD is playing. It kind of flickers darker and lighter all of the time and sometimes moves further down the screen.

It hasn't been moved recently and nothing is different from when it was working fine.

Hope someone can help and tell me it isnt broken permanently!
