Denon 1910 vs Samsung DVD-HD945

Does anyone have any views on whch of these players is best. Have a Loewe 32 LCD and plan to use the DVI connection. Any views or experience welcome.

My own personal experience with a Denon DVD-1910 has been very good via DVI into a Philips LCD at all settings including 720p and 1080i. (although 720p on the Philips produces a border ie 1280x720 - not a fault, but a pixel match - no border at 1080i or 576p though).

Hi:

doesn't Denon 1910 suffers from macroblocs problem?

No macroblocking here. Using 1910 @ 1080i but I didn't notice any problems with 576p either. I have this with multiregion FW.

Can I just say that the Denon 1910 is utterly superb into a Sharp 32" GA4.

720P appears to be the best option. No borders just a superb picture!

With the Loewe, you will probably find double upscaled 720p gives the best picture - I prefer it over 1080i that has been upscaled then downscaled. You will not get any borders if you set the picture format to 16:9. That is, unless you can find a DVD player that will scale to 1366x768@50/60 that the Loewe will apparently accept.

Ian64 (or anyone else who knows)......

I have since got the 1910 but have noticed a slight border to the right and left of the picture. Any idea how I can lose this. Not that impressed so far.

I have a Loewe 32 Xelos. I seem to lose the ability to control the TV picture size menu when in DVI mode.

Using a SUPRA DVI cable.
