DVD Player To suit my needs, help please!

Hi all,

im looking for a good dvd player. firstly i would like to say that i am looking to swing clear of Denon, and Arcam. Im looking for a DVD player that can play DVDR/RW and also DVD+R/RW with no problems. If this player can also play svcd too, especially from cdr/rw, then thats even better, but not essential. i would like a warm (ish) but detailed and involving sound for both cd and dvd playback. sacd playback isnt an issue, but if its there then great!. also, solid build quality, and quiet operation is an absolute must.

my budget is approx 200-400 depending whats on offer, and i would also like it to be silver, and have a decent finish to match my amp (not plastic, a couple of shades of silver different to the titanium finish isnt a problem).

400 is the real top end of my budget and i wouldnt really like to go there, but i can if its a belter.

so, whats the options?

all replies are much appreciated.

thanks

Dave

Amp - DSP-AX750se
Fronts - B&W DM603 s3
Centre CC6 s2 (hopefully an lcr600 by wednesday)
Rears - Eltax cheapo shelf speakers (sound ok but look awful)
Sub - MS309
Cable - Silver Anniversary Bi-Wire, and quite a few other various interconnects to mess around with, Cable Talk Broadcast 2 being the most notable one i think.

DVD Player (dont laugh) Sony DVP-NS355
NTL Samsung Box
Sony KV32FX68U TV
