The player is a great bluray player. If you wanted a media player why didn't you buy one

I've not tried the media functions but I can't imagine them to be great. They're not even that great in TV's which cost a load more. You'd be better off with a WDTV or similar if you want to stream media, far cheaper too.

ive used a dlna server for a couple of years and used a few different blu ray players that can stream the content they reproduce what i have on there perfectly. it makes it easy to have blu rays for different flat screens around the house that can all access this. why would i want a different box to do the same thing especially when i dont have the space under the plasma to fit another box.

if there wasnt a big sign on this player saying that it played divx and mkv etc with dlna certification for accessing the content i wouldnt of bought it. (mattk69 - they sell this as a media player)

im sorry if im offending bdt310 owners who are happy with them. my only gripe is that it doesnt do what it says it will and other people are having the same problem. i have put a bluray in the machine and cant fault the playback but thats not the only thing its supposed to do.

at the end of the day it doesnt do what its supposed to so its no good for me and will be going back.

cheers for the feedback

well i got a response from panasonic and they confirm the networking and streaming for this machine are limited. they tried to tell me that the sales panel that is on this machine in stores details that streaming playback is limited also. i contacted the store who sold it to me and they confirmed it says nothing of the sort. tut tut customer support

oh well at least the 50gt30 that i bought at the same time rocks

i know this player can play to 2 seperate screens using the 2 hdmi outs, but has any 1 tried playing to 2 screens or projectors at the same time? or does it choose a main screen if its on and blank to the other?
they would both need to be 1080p for this to work i would think.

i want to build a passive 3D projector set up and if this can play to 2 screens at the same time it would save me alot of money!

You can't output to 2 at once. To enable both to work you have to set one to video off so it's only for sound. I think the Oppo's play to 2 screens at once possibly.

I had a load of friends round tonight to watch Avatar in 3D and have to say there is only one word to describe the quality of that Blu-Ray - stunning! This player is fantastic in being able to supply the 3D signal to my TV and lossless audio to my 876 at the same time. Very pleased indeed! The disk is of course one of the four that I got free with the player thanks to advice on this thread. Cheers all.

I got my 4 free blu rays yesterday and the problem I've been having with drive noise on certain discs manifests itself to a lesser extent (but still clearly audible for about 45 mins into the film) on Gulliver's Travels. Anyone else had this?

Don't think anyone answered the above question, had a play tonight with the 3D settings but couldn't really tell if they were making much difference?

So what's everyone got their 3D settings set to?

Also can someone please confirm that you can't get DTS-HD/TrueHD from the sub out HDMI while watching 3D blu-rays only down mixed into dts/dd?

As of last Friday, Panasonic are also giving away the complete 2D Bluray edition of Starwars for new Bluray player purchases. Looks as though we have both just missed out on this new offer, that's life!

You can get DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD from the sub out, 2nd HDMI, whatever you want to call it. It works fine on my player. Are you selecting the right tracks in the blu rays audio or setup menu before you play the film? Have you got the secondary audio disabled? It needs to be I think.

I remember having a nightmare getting the audio settings right. I daren't touch them now. It's not the easiest menu to figure out.

Basic Question:

I've recently purchased a DMP-BDT310, my first Bluray player. With my Pioneer "DVD" player the player "remembered" where it was when I stopped playing the disk and continued from the same point when played again at a later date.

With the "310" the disc always goes back to the beginning after the disc has been "stopped", even briefly.

Is there a way to get the player to remember where it was stopped.

Thanks,

Graham.

Blu-ray's "resume" has (i believe) always been disc dependant. DVD resume works on the 310 but i haven't figured out exactly how, sometimes it does it sometime it doesn't. I'm sure someone smarter than me who has got it sussed will be along shortly

Thanks.

DVD's appear to "Resume" OK on this player as long as you do not eject the disc or remove power from the player. I can't seem to get Blurays to "Resume" whatever I do.

I will try some different discs tomorrow (all 3D though, don't know whether this makes a difference).

Just seen this on page 18 of the User Manual:

"On BD-Video discs including BD-J, the resume play function does not work."

Does this mean that I will never be able to "Resume Play" Bluray discs on the "310"?

This is an amazing player. I have noticed that with full lossless soundtracks, the sound is 'clearer' rather than 'louder' when I up the volume. With the PS3 my wife put her hands over her ears during loud bits..not so with the 310. And during Kingdom of Heaven the swordfights sounded so clear, the swords clanging together sounded astounding real.
One question, does the dialogue booster option just up the decibel level of the centre speaker or lower the decibel levels of the rest of the speakers, or a mix of both?

No, I have had it work. For the couple of times it's done this, I have powered off during a film, then when starting got to the main menu and when I pressed "play the movie" it would recognise that I stopped part way through and ask if I wanted to continue or start new. This is bluray title specific though, doesn't work on them all.

Thanks Matt,

I'm much happier now!

My copy of Avatar/3D never resumes play following stopping the disc for any reason. However Gullivers Travels/3D works just fine. It resumes ok following Stop, Power Down (to standby) and disc eject. It even remembers it's "Resume" position after a disc change (Gulliver followed by Avatar followed again by Gulliver), Play Resume of Gulliver still intact.

Definitely a Happy Bunny now, just hope that the majority of Bluray titles have the "Resume Play" feature enabled.

Graham.

My player will arrive tomorrow and then i will put my feedback here to. I have a Sammy PS50C7000 3D TV and a PIONEER vsx-819HK 1.3c amp. I want to connect HDMI 1 directly to my TV and the 2nd HDMI to my receiver to get DTS HD MASTER and DOLBY TRUEHD lossless sound, but for now i have two questions, does the player reads NTFS file system??? And if it reads does it bitstrems DTS HD MASTER from remux MKV??? I can read this formats from sammy internal streamer but the HD sound has to be downrated to DTS or DD 5.1, i have some remux movies such has AVATAR with DTS HD MASTER or TRANSFORMERS but the sound is always downrated due the TV limitation connection by optical to my receiver.. Anyways i think it will be a outstanding player for 190€.

Amazing player, the sound is the best compared with PS3, the picture quality is sublime and much better then PS3 to, but unfortunelly it was unable to read ntfs file system as i espected, got some issues to in AVCHD movies with DTS sound tracks (gives me only PCM), but not in all my AVCHD movies, Hd master and trueHD works great in blu ray, the 3D conversion is good but i still prefer the TV 3D conversion. In a 0-10 scale i will give 8,5 just because the lag of NTFS. Any player or streamer can read ntfs file system why this one not??? Maybe in a future firmware upgrade, oh and i´ve upgraded to the last FW 1.68.. DLNA not tested because i´m waiting for a powerline to connect the TV and BR.. If he reads MKV 1080p by network without any problem and decoding DTS and DD the scale will run to 9/10...
