ghosting .with scart cable?

ghosting .with scart cable?

hi i have noticed some ghosting when watching dvds connected
by scart. is it the scart lead or something else.?

First off try and eliminate one component at at time, so try another scart lead first and see if that improves the picture.

Almost certainly a poorly shielded scart lead, classic symptoms. What type of lead is it?

I though it might be, why not upgrade it, you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good lead.

or even cheaper simply open one end of it and snip pin 19.....

Pin 19 is usually video out.

Some TV's output a signal back into the scart via this pin. Because this is a cheapo scart cable the wire carrying this signal is not properly shielded and causes bleed into the video in. Hence the ghosting effect you see on the screen.

If it's a mega cheapo scart cable you may still find some ghosting, but it will be far far better than what you are seeing at the moment.

Once you snip the pin it simply makes the scart into a directional cable.
