Panasonic DMP-BD60

Hi,

I was looking for a good Blu-ray player that will play almost anything that's thrown at it and came across the Panasonic DMP-BD60. The problem is that searching for it on Amazon brings back a bewildering amount of apparant variants of this model. I'm not sure what the difference is between these variants; if indeed there is any. What I have seen is this:
  • BD60EB
  • BD60EB-K
  • BD60EG-K
  • BD60EG-S
  • BD60EF-K

Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Thanks,

Sachin

Can't answer your question in any depth I'm afraid, but I have just bought this model (the BD60EB-K variant) from RGBDirect. They and MuiltizoneAV.com were the cheapest I could find, but the one from RGBDirect was the multi-region DVD model (note: not multi-region BD) whereas the MultizoneAV.com was just the B region DVD and they wanted extra for the multi-region DVD model.

I therefore suspect that the EB-K variant is the multi-region DVD model, one will be DVD B region only and possibly one of the others is multi-region for both DVD and BD.

PS: I'm very pleased with it, can't wait to hook it up to the new telly when it arrives tomorrow.

From a quick bit of research I would suggest the following but I could be wrong.

EB = UK model

EG & EF = European models

K = Black

S= Silver

hello I got a DMP-BD60 a fortnight ago from comets, it was given to me free when I purchased a 42"panasonic plasma TV, and it is a black one and region B,
I have watched half a dozen blu rays discs and about the same dvd's on it and so far I am very impressed with it, not only are the blu ray disc really good, but the ordinary dvd's seem to be a lot better than on my old player..

Do you know if you can get this in Silver in the UK without resorting to a 'grey import'?

I've also been having the same issue with the different model numbers. Spoke to Pansonic and they confirmed that EB is for UK, K is for black and S is for Silver. Does anyone know what the difference is between the BD60 EB and the BD60 EB-K
On Amazon there is the DB60 EB for £151 with a free blu-ray:
Panasonic BD60EB Blu-ray Disc Player: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
and just the DB60 for £215:
Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blue Ray Player - BLACK: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

The one for £215 is from a Marketplace company, just the UK model at an inflated price.

So the DB60 EB for £151 is exactly the same as a DB60 EB-K?
