Just got an S550, and my second BR disc was Matrix trilogy.
Played Dark Knight fine, but froze for 5 secs at the end of "Matrix" and froze completely in middle (Chap22) of "Matrix Reloaded" (box set from Amazon).

Much disappontment for me and the kids...player kept "groaning" and the timer started going backwards, a min at a time...!! Had to unplug to start again, all functions on player were frozen..I'm hooked up HDMI to Pioneer plasma 50", with an Arcam AVR300, audio via digital optical.

Any Sony owners out there had probs with this fine (and well-owned!) disc set, or do I have a problem player or disc set?

Had to finish the film on DVD, an inauspicious start to my BR experiences, so advice please?!!

Have you updated the firmware on your player yet?
If it's just the firmware 'out of the box' ,then a quick update will probably fix your probs.

Hippo, thanks for this, you are probably right, I'll give it a go...and theres me foolishly assuming "new player, up to date firmware"...when in fact, the player might have been in the box at JL for many months...
