blu-ray player and 26in LCD only 1080i

Out of interest, has anyone plugged a blu-ray through a 26in LCD?. As the LCD will not scale up to 1080p, will the picture be a huge improvement over DVD??

cheers

Hi.
Sure, well 20in to be exact.A good BD transfer is always going to look better than it's SD counterpart no matter how decent the scaler is.
Not huge no........but an upgrade nevertheless.
Cheers.

Re: blu-ray player and 26in LCD only 1080i

I have a Sony 26" TV and a PS3 in the bedroom together with an AV amp and ceiling speakers and Freesat/Freeview.

The HD on Freesat and the PS3 both look better than SD. 'Huge improvement' I don't think so, but 'improvement' yes.

I do also now enjoy lying in bed and playing games.
