Problems with Panasonic DMR-BS750

I have had a new Panasonic DMR-BS750 for a couple of weeks and whenever I play a blu ray disc for this first time the machine reboots itself about 2min into the disc. After the reboot it then plays fine until you change the disc! I've read a lot of reviews and none mention this issue, nor does anyone seem to have posted about it.
Yesterday Panasonic released firmware v1.1 which only listed fixing a time issue on it's list of bug fixes - however so far it also appears to have fixed the rebooting issue too! I'm posting this in case anyone else has this issue and wonder what to do.

Unhappy and other problems

Hi Jaays,

I do not have the problem you mentioned (Blu-Ray discs do not cause a re-boot when I was at V1.0, although I'm now at V1.1), but I do have other problems!

I wonder if there is a better place to post these issues, possibly where we will get more feedback?

Anyway, I have these:
  1. When copying from the HDD to a DVD, I am unable to watch anything else on the device. I can not use either of the two Freesat tuners! I have to wait till the copy is complete (which can take ages) and only then can I watch a Freesat channel. This can't be correct can it?
  2. When playing a DIVX movie from the USB port, it works only at normal speed and the first of the fast forward speeds. At faster fast forward speeds, I see the frames, but when I attempt to play from the new position, it pauses for a while and then very annoyingly goes back to the start of the movie. Can this be correct?
  3. When watching Freesat, sometimes the picture disappears for a few seconds and then returns. This may be a satellite issue, but signal strength is very good. Not a big issue, just irritating.
  4. When watching a DVD, occasionally the picture seems to break-up/flicker, but then returns to normal. I thought it was something on the disc, so stepped back and tried again but this time no problems. It does seem to be a random position where this happens. Not a big issue, just irritating.
Hopefully someone can advise on these, thanks.

I had a similar issue with my DMR-BS850, it would reboot at about 4mins into playing back recorded material on the HDD. I tried allsorts of things to try to resolve the issue including the 1.1 update to no avail. In the end I factory defaulted the unit. disconnected and reconnected ALL cables and from that point on all has been well (about 6weeks).

Hope this helps

I've had absolutely no problems with my 750 since day one, I'm very pleased. Those having trouble with sat drop out are you using an old LNB?? I'm using a new freesat HD ready from eBay with 0.1db gain and it works perfectly, even during the heavy snow of recent weeks

i've only just purchased mine but was experiencing only one problem - the image drops out every now and again as does the sound, random but everything else seems ok. i guess this is hdmi dro-out rather than a fault with the machine but it is annoying when it happens cause a complete drop (not sound) can take a while to get the picture and audio back. i will buy a new expensive cable (hispeed, 24awg) and see if it gets any better. currently using a 10m mid range cable. needs to be this long though.

using scart looks awful!

DMR-BS750 reboots after a few minutes

Hi, Got the DMR-750 4 months ago, but after the 1.1 update started having reboot problems. It generally happens after I start playing a recored program, within a few minutes it re-boots itself. It seems to work either on retrying or retrying after it reboots a second time.
It has happened once while just watching tv.
Has anyone else found this happening or found what the problem might be?
