new player?

hi

this has proberly been asked a lot before, basically im thinking of getting a standalone br player for my room instead of always using my ps3.

i have a budget of £200, the last player i got was a sony s350 for downstairs but i would like something upstairs as well.

if possible i would like to spend as little as possible but still want something that is a popular choice on here ?

any thoughts

thankyou

*edit* i have a onkyo HTX22hd 2.1 to connect to it

Philips 3000 £97 leaving you with £100 to get lots of 2 for 1 offer disks
Available for pickup at Argos or Asda for this price, or amazon at £99.99 delivered. Is fanless, so no worry of hearing it during quiet scenes, especially useful for a bedroom player.
Otherwise, Sony 360 is always popular and cheapish.

Re: new player?

I'm in a similar situation and have narrowed it down to the Sony 360 or the LG 370.
Both same price on amazon £137ish although I believe Blockbuster are doing the Sony + 4 BDs for £149 from a week on Monday.

Re: new player?

just looking it seems the philips does not decode all the formats , but the sony 360 does decode all sound formats , so for a extra £30 or so , i would be better off with the sony s360?

also checking out the panasonic bd60 , how does that compare to the sony or are they both on par?

thanks

the Sony is the newer quicker and sleeker machine, that said Blu Ray performance is on par with all players. The one thing The panasonic has, is an offer of 7 free blus.

If you check the Blockbuster site they have the Sony @ £149 with 4 free BDs

I don't think you'd be disapointed with either player

Re: new player?

thinking about it i may just get the sony 360 from amazon as the films that you get free from blockbuster are good but ive seen 2 of them already but i suppose its still the better deal , i just dont know how good blockbusters service is like as ive not brought from them before , where as amazon has always been good?

Re: new player?

Make the deal even sweeter, if you have a Blockbuster store near you, you can order instore get the deal mentioned plus £20 worth of rental vouchers thrown in as well. If you aren't a member it costs nothing to join and £20 will get you 8 blu-ray rentals.

Note that you can only pick up the player from 23 Nov.

hi again

ive narrowed it down to the sony 360 and panasonic bd60 , which are roughly the same price.

i just need to know if both players can decode the hd soundtracks?

and finally which one i should go for , not bringing free br deals into it , but just what player is the better if any?

thanks
