HK DVD25 vs Denon 2900

Ok - simple question - is the Denon 2900 REALLY worth triple the price of the HK ? Granted it's probably better, but £400 better ?

Someone did put me off by saying the HK didnt do true Pal Prog - but converted PAL to NTSC then chucked out PAL Prog.

cant confirm or deny this - so really if it does true PAL Prog (720p ?) then do I really need to spend on the Denon.

BTW - Im going to buy a Sharp Z9000 at the same time to connect to it.

G.

I'm sure this post will get moved, but to answer one of your questions, the HK DVD25 does do true Pal PS, as to which is best, if you really are serious about the Denon, get a Demo against the HK.

you really do need to demo side by side on the PJ you are buying and decide if you can see the difference and if it is worth £400

Pal Progressive scan isn't 720p thats Hi-Def or at least one standard of Hi-Def, a Pal Progressive scan picture is 576p with NTSC Progressive being 480p

It does depend on whther you want to use it as a CD player or interested in SACD or DVD audio. The CD playback is meant to be good. I'm going to demo one this week
