Have DVD players improved?

Hi,

We are about to upgrade our TV and are considering upgrading our DVD player at the same time. We currently have a two-year old Pioneer DV-444 which has patiently played any disc I have thrown at it.

My question is have DVD players improved over the past two years? Specifically, would a current £300 DVD player be an improvement over the Pioneer?

Many thanks,

Paul

hi,
nowadays almost every player can read mp3/wma files from cdrom and also you can view jpeg files from cdrom to your television.

I would say yes as technology moves at quite a pace. Also, if you can buy a new TV with component inputs then get a DVD player with component outputs you will see a marked improvement (read huge )
