Hi people.

I have a Sony BDP S350 Blu Ray player and have noticed that the sound on the TV (Sony Bravia) has to be risen to about 70 to hear anything. When watching a DVD through another source the sound only needs tobe about 25. I have heard that this is common........ but it is still a pain.

My question is - am I doing something wrong and would a sound system get round this problem? or would I have to crank the sound kit up to its top-end?

Hi.
Very common i'm afraid when direct to the TV. (you can try the Audio DRC settings)
Sound system will not have the same problem.

I have a Bravia TV, sound system and a Sony BR player. For TV I have the sound on -25dB, DVD on -20 dB and BR on -15dB, so whilst it may not be as exaggerated as your TV volume scale, the volume difference is real from different inputs.
