Hi,
I have a PS3 hooked to a denon amp via optical cable. The PS3 seems to send DTS ok but fails to send DD 5.1. PS3 set to PCM mode. The denon just switches to PLB2 whrn it is a 5.1 disc without DTS on it.
Any thoughts???

Hi, tried it and no difference, denon (avr 2805) is set to 7Ch setting when on DVD mode, it switchs to dts-hd buy it self but does nothing with 5.1 or straight dts. Did have a pany bd35, no probs, now on the ps3.

Are all the settings DD/DTS 5.1 etc ticked?

Excellent, were getting there.
PS3 outputing in 5.1 and dts, in the audio setting it asks if i want to also select linear pcm 2ch as well ( freq 44,48, 88, 176khz) as there is a risk of damaging my speakers (kef's) should i select them or not?

That shouldn't be a problem have you tried doing the Auto setting with the PS3 where it ticks what's available to your setup?

i have 5.1, dts and the pre selected PCM's ticked, When playing dvd the amp picks up the Opt signal and in the top left window display of the amp it says dolby digital, but the main text in the window remains on 7ch. If i watch something in dts format then the 7ch does switch to dts HD?
PS3 is on bitstream.
In the audio settings of the PS3 there is a option for AAC, i selected this with 5.1, and dts and problem fixed, 5.1 and dts comming through ok and appropriately displayed on screen.
