Question Seeking BD player with analogue output and audio delay facility

Hi all

This is my first post so here goes

I'm about to set up a small HT room. The only equipment I have so far are the speakers (Quad 21L fronts taken from my hi-fi) a recently acquired centre to match, plus a pair of Quad lites for the surrounds. I would like to keep cd reproduction sounding good (current amp is Quad 77 pre/power/cd), and therefore am thinking of buying a used Denon A1se as the amplifier.I am also considering an Infocus IN80 projector for the display. This setup has a drawback in that the amp has no HDMI inputs, and the only way I can get HD audio is to use a BD player with analogue outputs, and route them to the amps 7.1 analogue inputs. I would connect the projector using HDMI directly from the BD player. My big worry is potential for lip sync error, and therefore am looking for a decent (ish) player than can output HD to at least 5.1 analogue sockets, and that also has the capability of delaying the analogue audio output.

Does anyone know of such an animal, or am I worrying over nothing?

Regards......Mike

Re: Seeking BD player with analogue output and audio delay facility

There are probably more than one brand/model that will do both of your requirements. I chose the Sony BDP-S550 for the same reasons as you.

The major requirement for satisfactory multi analogue hookup from any brand of BR player is an amp or receiver capable of giving an LFE boost of a minimum of 10dB, specifically for the multi analogue inputs, otherwise bass will be somewhat lacking.

As long as you can do that it should be pretty painless.
