Step down converter help needed

Hi!

I just bought a Momitsu BDP-899 and I wondered if someone could advice a safe power converter to use the player in the UK please?

I'm a total noob at this, so all help is welcome.

Thanks

Well according to this it will run at 240volts BDP-899 Specifications, basically if you want to get a step down transformer then look to get one that is equal to or greater than 30watts.

Re: Step down converter help needed

As the other Andy said , you dont need one , the unit has a universal power supply ,

Power Requirement
AC 100V-240V +- 10% , 50/60 Hz, 20W.
if the unit has an american two pin plug all you need is an adaptor.

The same as the type of thing you would buy for you laptop if you were taking it away with you.

Wow. Thanks for the help.

I'm a little confused so, so please help a dummy.

The plug has two prongs on it. Is Andy saying that all I need is an adapter and that I don't need to bother with the converter that Kingfats suggested?

Thanks guys. It's sitting next to me and I'm dying to try it.

Yes it seems the player has universal voltage so no converter needed but an adaptor for the plug.

Re: Step down converter help needed

Ah, I think I understand better now.

If I'm not mistaken, the writing above the power lead says 100-240v which I believe is within the UK voltage. So all I need will be a US to UK 2 pin to 3 pin adapter.

If I'm wrong, for the love of God, someone warn me before I go off and buy one and blow up my player.

The player requires NO stepdown transformer.
