Question Component to RGB scart?

Saw this cable mentioned on a thread lastweek but didn't say much about it.
Have just bought a 32" Philips 6517 and am using a Sony 725D
for me DVDs, problem is that when playing US flicks I'm getting
a distortion at the top of the screen from the macrovision....
not worth the cost of upgrading the player again as its off
the market a good while and as far as I know macrovision is
not on the component output as I've never seen it on my
projector......just wondering it the component output is
compatible with the RGB scrat on the TV using this cable.....
Profigold PGV372 - Component to Scart....should be as I've
never heard of a TV that takes component scart socket?

Cheers...

Ger

Hi,

I believe Loewe TVs can accept component on a Scart socket but I don't think your Philips will. Just stick with your RGB.

RGB and YUV (Component) are not compatible.

That's right some Loewe's will accept component on their scart input, providing you select the appropriate option in the menu. Sync on green.

Howdy, that was my thread a while back, I found what I was looking for, a RGB transcoder. Keenes, KDS and some other places have them, ive still yet to order one, but i'll get around to it (probably the one from Keens (Syncblaster RGB2c transcoder)

and yes, Loewe's do take YUV scart (or at least my Xelos did)
