Samsung DVD-H1080 and Digital Sound

I'm thinking of buying one of these to link to a Denon 1509 and a Samsung LE26R88BD TV.

The Samsung DVD player has RCA Jack in/outputs. Does anyone know if the output through the Denon amp will be true digital or only pro-logic using this format?

Alternatively all 3 units have HDMI sockets, would this media enable full digital sound?

Any advice and help would be a great help.

Many thanks
