White lines at top of screen

I seem to have developed a strange problem that I have never seen before. When I watch a DVD there are white lines in the top left of the screen.

I have attached a couple of photos so you can see what I mean.

This has never happened before and I have tested it with several DVDs and it is always the same. I have been through the main picture settings in the TV and DVD menus and that all seems ok.

The DVD player connects with component through my amp to the TV. I have connected it direct to the TV via scart and I still get the same problem.

So I am at a loss really. The next thing I need to try is to connect up a different DVD player but haven't been able to do that yet.

Anyone got any ideas? It is an oldish DVD player whereas my TV is brand new, so I think it is more likely a problem with the player (I hope!).

Re: White lines at top of screen

Maybe I was a bit quick to post this...

When I tested the scart lead, I unplugged the component lead to the TV. Just removed the scart and reconnected the component lead and... hey presto, the lines have disappeared.

Still baffled as to what caused it though. It can't have just been a loose connection as the lines were still there when I connected via scart.

Just one of those strange things I guess!
