| Re: Sony DAV-DZ260 - does oneforall hack work? I've managed it today with a OneForAll URC-8040 Kameleon. I used these instructions from a different Sony model (but slightly changed). On the kameleon the DVD button doesn't flash, instead it's the arrows at the top which show the signal being transmitted:
If I say the DVD button blinks twice, it must do this, if it does not you must try the sequence again and again until it does blink twice. To start (this bit refers to the OneForAll URC-8040 Kameleon):
1. Select DVD device on remote
2. Hold the 'Magic' button until the DVD button blinks twice
3. Enter device code 0533 (DVD button blinks twice)
You then need to individually program buttons 1 through 5 with the following codes: To program Button 1
1. Hold 'Magic' button until the DVD button blinks twice
2. Press 994 (DVD button blinks twice)
3. Press 'Magic' once
4. Enter 5 digit code 00189
5. Finally press button 1 which will then program it (DVD button blinks twice) To program Button 2
1. Hold 'Magic' button until the DVD button blinks twice
2. Press 994 (DVD button blinks twice)
3. Press 'Magic' once
4. Enter 5 digit code 00255
5. Finally press button 2 which will then program it (DVD button blinks twice) To program Button 3
1. Hold 'Magic' button until the DVD button blinks twice
2. Press 994 (DVD button blinks twice)
3. Press 'Magic' once
4. Enter 5 digit code 00095
5. Finally press button 3 which will then program it (DVD button blinks twice) To program Button 4
1. Hold 'Magic' button until the DVD button blinks twice
2. Press 994 (DVD button blinks twice)
3. Press 'Magic' once
4. Enter 5 digit code 00221
5. Finally press button 4 which will then program it (DVD button blinks twice) To program Button 5
1. Hold 'Magic' button until the DVD button blinks twice
2. Press 994 (DVD button blinks twice)
3. Press 'Magic' once
4. Enter 5 digit code 00079
5. Finally press button 5 which will then program it (DVD button blinks twice) Please note this next bit didn't seem to work for me as it should have. Then finally:
1. Remove any disk, put player on standby
2. Press 1,2,3,4,5 - player starts up.
3. Press 1,2,3,4,5 - player shuts down and it says timer ok Basically I tried it as above and nothing happened so I switched the machine on and tried again, nothing again so tried once more and still nothing as described above, HOWEVER, I then tried a Region 1 disc and it worked! So somewhere in there it worked but dunno if it was when it was switched off or switched on?
