Why will no one say how much the donation was?

Shhhh! - it's a secret! - if they tell you they'll be banned on the firmware-info site

I have done some research on this...

According to this post on videohelp.com the DMP-BD655P-K (Costco edition of the DMP-BD65P) cannot be unlocked with a remote control...

Quote:
A warning for people with American Panasonic Blu-ray players:

It is not possible to "hack" an American Panasonic Blu-ray device with just a remote control.

If you apply the remote control button sequence to an American Panasonic Blu-ray device, you will only gain the ability to play NTSC discs from different regions !

American Panasonic Blu-ray devices are restricted to NTSC playback.

This restriction can only be removed by installing enhanced firmware.

Do a google search for "dmp-bd65 enhanced firmware" and you will get the idea.
Hope this helps.

Now I remember seeing that. I think someone else posted it here, but this thread is so huge, I've forgotten everything I've read. Any region NTSC doesn't help. I need PAL capability. Guess the old player is still around for awhile until firmwareinfo decides they want more money.

Thanks.

Hello to all!

I've read this thread and was wondering if anyone still have the CD image with IR codes to unlock Panasonic DMP-BD45. I'd really appreciate this!!

Firmwareinfo.com worked for me!

Hi All,
After trying and getting rejected once, i read the forum here & sent the message exactly as firmwareinfo requested, and within 2 hours I had a response, and, after donating, within 2 hours I had the firmware.

I have upgraded & will test it tonight.

Jim,

I was referring to CD described in the first post:

UPDATE

Later in the thread the "unlocking via programmable remote" method is discussed. If you are unable to perform the remote hack yourself, but do have a laptop with infrared capability, drop a PM to chachi for a download link for a CD image which can do the unlock using the laptop.
so I was expecting the IR codes to unlock my dmp-bd45 DVD playback (not worried about blu-ray playback)

Could you help me?

It took me a few goes and an apology to get through, the reason I got rejected a few times was because I wasn't following the instruction correctly. As soon as I did follow the instructions, I had the same experience as you.

Thumbs up DMR-EX87 EC1K hack with URC-3440

With thanks to all who have posted solutions on the previous 37 pages Thanks left where I've used some of the article contents.

I've managed the hack on my DMREX-87 (Model suffix EC1K) which is a French/German Panasonic DVD recorder with a URC-3440 remote.

The dvd code was only 4 digits
The key codes are 6 digits

I used the following procedure:

1. Press DVD
2. Hold Magic button until led flashes twice
3. Press 0490 to program panasonic dvd code (note 4 digits only) led flashes twice

4. Hold magic until led flashes twice
5. Press 994
6. press magic (don't hold)
7. press 001911 (This sets value 00191 to button 1) led flashes twice

8. Hold magic until led flashes twice
9. Press 994
10. press magic (don't hold)
11. press 001202 (This sets value 00120 to button 2) led flashes twice

12. Hold magic until led flashes twice
13. Press 994
14. press magic (don't hold)
15. press 000653 (This sets value 00065 to button 3) led flashes twice

16. Hold magic until led flashes twice
17. Press 994
18. press magic (don't hold)
19. press 001804 (This sets value 00180 to button 4) led flashes twice

20. Hold magic until led flashes twice
21. Press 994
22. press magic (don't hold)
23. press 001435 (This sets value 00143 to button 5) led flashes twice

24. Hold magic until led flashes twice
25. Press 994
26. press magic (don't hold)
27. press 001556 (This sets value 00155 to button 6) led flashes twice

28. Hold magic until led flashes twice
29. Press 994
30. press magic (don't hold)
31. press 001227 (This sets value 00122 to button 7) led flashes twice

32. Hold magic until led flashes twice
33. Press 994
34. press magic (don't hold)
35. press 001178 (This sets value 00117 to button 8) led flashes twice

36. Hold magic until led flashes twice
37. Press 994
38. press magic (don't hold)
39. press 001299 (This sets value 00129 to button 9) led flashes twice

40. Hold magic until led flashes twice
41. Press 994
42. press magic (don't hold)
43. press 001230 (This sets value 00123 to button 0) led flashes twice

44. turn on the DVD
45. ensure drawer is closed
46. press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 on the URC-3440 in succession.
Player will restart and you will be region free.
I had to unplug and leave for a minute then plug the power in again as the record button on the front of the dvd player was unresponsive. However now the player is region free and plays my region 1 and region 2 discs OK, recording works the same as before

Thanks to everyones assistance on this forum, I've managaed to multi region my original wharfedale, two Sony blu-players and now my Panasonic dvd recorder

Does the custom firmware for the Panasonic DMP-BDT110 enable devices that are NTFS formatted to be plugged in (for MKV playback), or is this still not possible?

Edit: Apparently they support exFat, which is just as flexible as NTFS.

Their firmware wouldn't work for you as each is customised to the MAC address of the individual player to prevent copying

If you really want it just keep trying on the website

Codes also worked with URC 7940 on Panasonic DMR-EZ28. Again, thanks to all. Found one of these remotes for £10 on-line.

The cycle was as follows (I did all 5 steps for each of the 10 assignments)

Hold the 'M' for 3 secs until the power led flashes
enter 994 (power led flashes a couple of times)
press 'M' briefly (led flashes)
enter the 5 digit code and then the number button for assignment
(you get confirmation led flashes.)

How you succeeded and when?
I'm getting deleted the whole time ("...we don't accept new applications...")
Please copy the text of your pm (with subject and without MAC ).

I PMd him what he asked for

Device
Mac address
Installed firmware revision (Can be found in configuration settings)
Desired enhanced firmware version
Expectations

I PMd last week and got a reply within 10mins and paid and got the firmware within 30mins, I have also heard if you don't pay straight away he deletes the account so once he replies best to make payment and you will get the firmware within the hour.

I have now programmed my Harmony remote so I just hit region A or B and the player switches to the required region.

Good luck getting the firmware.

Subject: enhanced fw

Hello,

here are the required informations:

Device model: DMP-BDT110EG

MAC: aa-bb-cc-dd-ee-ff

Installed firmware revision: 1.61

Desired enhanced firmware version: 1.65A

Expactations:
Since I don't want to be dictated to which region code discs I have to play, I hope this firmware will help me to see what I want - not only B-discs.

Thanks
If I post the pm it is shown in "outbox" but not in "sent messages". Is that okay?

Oops, thanks for that.
Would be great if this is the key to the fw. I'll try later... (I got already two e-mail addresses blocked)

Put your expectations as : to play any region DVDs as dictated to is a very strong statement and perhaps he doesn't like the statement.

Is that "don't accept new applications" true or just an excuse...
Maybe I was a few days too late, can't be helped. Guess I'll try in a few weeks again.
Thanks for all the help so far.
