AN One-For-ALL URC-7030 will do the trick

eVilbay Item 330326942377 £4.99 free postage - I bought one and it works fine.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

I see a few people have asked about the Panasonic Portable DVD LS86 and can not see any replies.

Does anyone know about this player and how to multi-region it?

Cheers

Talking Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Hi,

Used the following procedure from page 45 of this thread on my DMP-BD60 and worked fine with a £4.99 URC-7030 from Ebay..

Though, I had to drop the two leading zeros from the codes allocated to the buttons 1 - 0 to get it to work. The player did re-boot after the last code and now plays DVDs from any region....Excellent and many thanks for all the help on this forum.

Ken...

*****

I did it using a One for All - URC 7030

prepare:
1. select DVD device on remote
2. hold magic button until the DVD button blinks twice
3. enter device code 0490 (DVD button blinks twice)

program buttons with the following codes:

1. 191
2. 120
3. 065
4. 180
5. 143
6. 155
7. 122
8. 117
9. 129
0. 123

1. hold magic button until the DVD button blinks twice
2. press 994 (DVD button blinks twice)
3. press magic
4. enter 3 digit code from above
5. press button (1,2,3 etc..) where to program it (DVD button blinks twice)
6repeat steps 1 to 6 for all keys.

Switch on DVD player, make sure theirs no disc in it.
Press the One For All Remote buttons in the following sequence
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0

If all works ok the Blu Ray player will reboot
When its finished it will not actually tell you its region free, just simply try it with different region DVDs.

Hi is this still an active way of doing MR on the Panasonics?

I have just bought a DMR-EX768 and would like to know if I can make it MR please. I also have a Harmony 525, if that helps.

Could someone please point me in the right direction to do this.

Cheers, Andy.

Just seen your post. I have the same Panasonic as you. Did you manage to discover how to unlock it?

I've just connected my DMP-BD35 to the 'net and it would like to update its firmware, however as I've bought the machine from Richer Sounds it was sold as region free.

If I update my firmware, does it become region locked again and if so how do I unlock it again?

As nobody answered my question are there any issues with sending the code to the Panasonic player. If it doesn't like it will it just ignore it or fry what's on it?

Feedback from users who've tried it on incompatible models or US versions etc. indicates that it simply gets ignored.

The list below is the models that the "chipped remotes" on eBay will unlock - your Hoe Theater System I think is on it - hence I think these codes will work for you too

Hi Ken - don't suppose you fancy selling on the URC 7030 with codes therein so I can do my bd35 with it?

Often seen this said but didn't spot one when I checked - though not easy to know which are compatible I guess.

Thankfully I managed to do mine in the end using my old Dell Axim X51 and a couple of free downloads. I knew there was a reason why I was keeping it

Thanks for that Jim.
I obviously made the mistake of including a URC-type model number which is probably a bit too techie a search.
If I need one in future I'll know what to look for.

You're very welcome - eVilBay search is a Nightmare at the best of times - that's why I've a room full of Unused Crud I wasn't even aware I "needed"

i was wondering if you would happen to know what the process is to input these codes into a OFA URC-9960B01? i have spent quite a long time searching google, and these forums, but most instructions only cover the older OFA models which have somekeys i dont recognize. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the "Magic" button on your OFA (Kameleon model?) is replace with the "Dev Set" button if this helps ? also some remotes need the three digit codes to be 5 digits so may need to add extra zeros at start of codes...

As in this post here :-

Holding out for the Sony RDR-HXD870
