Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

I have just succesfully used my Dell D610 laptop and the ISO image provided by Chachi to make my Panasonic DMR-EX77 DVD recorder multi-region.

Burnt the image to CD
Changed laptop IR port to COM2 in bios to match what Winsamp was expecting.
Ran WINSAMP
Loaded remote.txt
Hit enter - counted to 5 - pressed right arrow to move to next code and carried on doing this until completed and DCD recorder came up with HELLO.

Very little changed on the dvd recorders didplay to indicate anything happened apart from the HELLO at the end but it now plays my Region 1 discs fine.

If you want the ISO then PM Chachi - Chachi can give you the link to the ISO.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Hi there, totally new to this forum.

I want to know where I can find the Panasonic region Hack RDF?
I want to use it with a PSP (incl. ir shell of course).

Buuuut I can't find it, nowhere, not on the DC-site (which is not really working very well, perhaps due to the hacking). Not on the internet, Google->negative!

So does anybody have the RDF (PSP) file for me???

Please?

If you have it, you'll have my gratitude for your (or mine) lifetime!!!!

Greetz.

I have successfully managed to region free a Panasonic S-35 DVD player and a DMR-ES20D DVD recorder (NO special firmware needed). I used a borrowed One for All Kameleon 6 remote, and the standard Panasonic DVD control (had to use the S-35 one, as I couldn't see a >=10 button on the ES20 control ).

In summary.....

On the Kameleon:

Choose [DVD], [Magic] long enoughfor the rabbit, [0490] to set for a Panasonic DVD. Then set up a special command by choosing [Magic] long enough for the rabbit, [994], [Magic] (only one quick press), [143], then choose a key to which the command will be assigned (I chose "1" on the keypad).

I then did the sequence using the Panasonic remote, and the Kameleon:

Enter, 6, >=10, << (on Panasonic)

1 (on Kameleon)

Audio, 8, 1, Subtitle, 4 (on Panasonic)

The S-35 was a little troublesome, and took around 5 attempts before it worked. It would always pause after the Kameleon code was sent with the message FT02. This is easily reset by pressing "cancel" on the DVD remote, with the DVD player initialising again (no special remotes required). Try pressing the keys as quickly as you can - I think I may have been too slow for the first attempts. EDIT: the S-35 apparently shows a line of dots, "open" then comes back on (I was told this by my partner, as I hadn't noticed anything while concentrating on pressing the correct keys - must've been really quick!)

The ES-20 worked first time, with the front display pausing (as if reading a disc), then coming up with the "Hello" message again when it was done.

So, many thanks to the wonderfully intelligent people who worked on this, and decided to share the secret for free with the community, instead of charging for their hard work (which they would surely be entitled to do). You are what makes the Internet great.

A final note; if you don't have the tools or the inclination to do this yourself, a single-use remote from one of the multi-region sites mentioned earlier will no doubt do a great job.

If you are a tight Scots git like me, this is a free marvel, so good luck
Hi ! I am totaly new on this. what do you mean by "[Magic] long enoughfor the rabbit". I have de panasonic S-35, I also have a sony TV remote that looks like an One for All remote.
I paid $5 to ALLDVDCodes.com for the panasonic codes and they sent me a 5 pages email with info that is posted for free on the web. I thought it was gonna be easier.
Thanks
JC

You need an one for all remote,it has a 'magic' button that allows you to programmea code and assign it to a button on the remote.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Yo Peoplez, I just wanted to say : i did it.

I "wrecked" my brandnew DMR-EH57 and now it's all region free.
I used the PSP method, I tried it out on a display model in a shop (bad bad bad me). It worked, bought one and now I gotz me a region free Pana.

Anyways, let me tell you how I did it.

I wanted to use my PSP, because I didn't have a PDA or a laptop.
So I found ir shell but couldn't find the matching rdf-file (hence my posting).

Out of desperation, I downloaded the ccf hack and used prontoedit to make my own rdf-file.

It worked like a charm.

There you have it.

Thx to the peepz who made this happen, it's wicked cool.

Later.

D.

PS it all happened today.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Hi Guys,
I have read through the whole of this thread, None of the links in the thread seem to work anymore, which means I cant get hold of the necessary files to make my DMR-EX87EB-K region free. Does anyone have updated links, or know where else I can find the files necessary to unlock?

Thanks

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Yo Teb,

I can't remember where I got the original PanasonicRegionHack.ccf file from.
But I still have it.

This file is to be used with (I think) the PDA and laptop (probably).
You have to find that out by yourself.

So if you want the *.ccf file, pm me and I will send it to you or upload it (whatever is easier).

Greetz.

D.

PS you're right, the links kinda suck right now.
PS2 you can always pm chachi (the original dude)
PS3 disclaimer : the ccf-file is the original file, if you mess it up in anyway I ain't to blame.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Hi,

Even though most of the links to www.dcevolution.net are broken, I was able to "region-free" a Panasonic S42 using Novii Remote for Palm Os (http://www.novii.tv/palm/deluxe/) and a Palm T5.

I used information posted in this forum and in message #131 on www.dvdboard.de (http://www.dvdboard.de/forum/showthr...=101153&page=6). While the post is in German, if you've read through the other posts in this forum you'll understand the general idea. You'll need to register on this site to download the zip document "Panasonic-DMR-EX85-Regionfree.rtf".

To use this method, install Novii Remote on your palm. Once you've done that, follow the instructions provided in the document "Panasonic-DMR-EX85-Regionfree.rtf". This document contains a series of screen shots (from a t-mobile MDA smartphone). It walks you through creating the appropriate Panasonic remote template and two custom buttons: one that recreates the service button "00F2", and another that will "play" a macro that will send the following sequence:

Enter, 6, >=10, <<, 00F2, Audio, 8, * requested region code here (1-8) *, Subtitle, 1

(Please note that the instructions provided in the document use "1" for the "requested region code" which is "region free". If you need to "reset" it to the factory region code then you can use "9".)

When you get to page 10 - "Import Hex Code" - you should use the following Hex Code for 00F2:

0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0041 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0ace

The easiest way to enter this is to copy and paste this hex code into a memopad note on your PC, and then sync it to your palm. You can then copy and paste it into the "Import Hex Code" field.

Once you've created the two buttons, you are ready to change the player region code:
1. Be sure players drive is empty (no disc inside)
2. Press the RCE button

You should see the DVD player's display switch from "noDISC" to "----" and after about 5 seconds change back to "noDISC". It should be region free.

If you encounter an error and the DVD player's display reads "FT02", you'll need to try an alternative method. First, reset the player by pressing, "CANCEL" on the remote, or pressing "open/close + pause + QUICK OSD". You'll need both the Palm and the original Panasonic remote control for this method. You will be sending the following sequence:

Enter, 6, >=10, <<
00F2
Audio, 8, 1, Subtitle, 4

Use the remote's buttons to enter the first string (Enter, 6, >=10, <<), then use the Palm to press the "xF2" button that you created earlier on Novii Remote to send the hex code for"00F2", and then quickly back to the remote to send the third string (Audio, 8, 1, Subtitle, 4).

You should be successful with this method. Personal thanks to everyone who worked on and shared this information.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Just sucessfully zapped an EX77 to multiregion with an iPaq, winpda tv remote software and ccf file.

Third time lucky though, first time I sent it the RCE code, all looked ok so tried spiderman R1, it came up with some map with the zones on saying there's nothing wrong with the disc but it was intended for a region locked player. so I sent it the R1 code and Spiderman ran fine, so I tried the RCE code again, Spiderman R1 worked forst time along with Lucky Number Slevin R2 so not sure what happened first time.

Question Simpler Way to Understand?

I have read many of the threads regarding this post and to a novice it may as well be written in chinese to me

If I wanted to make my S53 RCE/Region Free using a Kameleon 6 Universal Remote what would be the sequence as per the remote keys.

Quote:

A simpler guide would be very helpful to me and probably a few more It's the [994][143] stuff in parenthises which kinda confuse. Is it a specific button or does this code have to be input into the remote somehow?

Any Kameleon 6 plain english instructions would be gratefully received.

*I now understand the 'Rabbit' thing having read the Remote handbook on the net.

babkafl,

Sorry to confuse... from within the Novii remote application the IR code "+10" is the equivalent to ">=10".

Hope that helps.

Right
first you must programme the Kameleon's dvd button so it will controll your panny dvd.
So on the kameleon press the dvd button (it illuminates) then hold down the rabbit button until the rabbit apperars above the button now press 0490.
Now try to see if the remote will turn on you dvd player,if yes the kameleon is ready.
Now depending if you want to programme all 10 buttons of just the serive button it depends what you do.
But for each button you need to programme:
Hold the magic button until the rabbit appears
Key
994
magic button
143 (or 00143 if you one for all uses a 5 digit code)This is the 00F2 service button
Then what ever key you want to programme it to.
Personally I programmed all 10 comands in the button 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 0
Any Q's just ask

Hack for DMR-EX77 using Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA

Just a thanks to everyone here for being able to unlock my new DMR-EX77EB-K.

This is how but I am replicating what has already been said before:

Downloaded Universal Remote Controller from here:

http://www.pdawin.com/tvremote.html for a 15 use/day trial. and install to WM 5.0 PDA via active sync.

Download the remote config .ccf file from here:

http://www.dv-rec.de/Temp/Panasonic_DVD_Region_Hack.rar

decompress with WinRAR:

http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

extract files to My Documents or similar folder on your PDA (which ever is the easiest way)

start TV remote controller, click options and select CCF mode then when prompted select the Panasonic_DVD_Region_Hack.ccf file not the TV.CCF file you uploaded in My Documents or other folder.

point at DVD player (didn't seem to matter about having a DVD in it or not) but was in DVD mode not freeview.

click RCE whilst pointing it to the dvd player and bingo after a few sounds it reboots and hey presto region free. I tested it with a backup copy of a DVD in my collection in region 2 with one I burned in Region 1 using DVD shrink and DVD decrypter and its works.

Re: Hack for DMR-EX77 using Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your advices. They look rather easy to apply.
I load my Dell Axim 5 with these files, but if pressing the "RCE" button made the few sound you speak about, nothing changes in the EX77 I've got.
Did I missed something?
Regards

Did your machine reboot - on the display whilst pressing the RCE button once and then zaps 10 times (ten sounds I think) it displays a channel number then reboots! I also tried it pressing RC3 and trying to play a DVD region 2 and it wouldn't then pressed RCE and then if played a region 2. Are you sitting fairly close I did mine from about 6 feet away?

Hi Lewie,
I just got a Kameleon one for all remote and I asume that the magic button in references is the "macro" buttom. Now what? , do I have to use all the big list with 4 digits code including the 00F2 (143) all together or do I have to try one 4 digits code each time until one of them works, in other words, after >=10,<<, I have to try one of the 4 digits code here and then audio,8.....4?
Hope you can help me or anyone out there, I feel like LOL

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

No the magic but is the magic button,it has 'magic' written under it.
The 4 digit codes are the <=10,>> etc buttons.
They all appear on the remote the only one that does not is the 00F2 button, this needs to be programmed into the remote so.
on the DVD remote you press
enter
6
>=10
<<

Now you need to program the kameleon to do this button so see my instructions above.
audio
8
1
subtitle
4
that should be it.
If you want to return your remote I will sell you mine with the full sequence already programmed in as I only bought it for this.

Re: Panasonic DVD players region free hack now available

Ok. Unfortunately I bought the kameleon 8-device URC-9960B01 even thought it is nice and is very easy to use, this one does not have that "magic" buttom that you mention. I read all the user guide and also looked in the picture an does not appear (the magic button).

The idea of buying your remote sounds good, how much? How do I send you the money? etc...
