Our new friends Kef and Denon

After spending amounts of money, I had 3 huge boxes and several pages of instructions.

As instructed I read each section before doing what it asked. It was fine and got me set up, yards of speaker cable across the floor? Check. Audyssey setup completed? Check.

At the time amps and such were all new to me and I really didn't understand about the connections and what they did, or the fact that it could handle video as well as audio. It all worked fine, unsurprisingly...

Goodbye 80s stereo, hello amp, sub and speakers!

It's served us very well, and entertained us with it's 5-disc changer and pseudo surround-sound, but it really had to go.

A plan was formulated to replace it with an amp and speaker set up. Namely the Denon 1507 and Kef 1005s. I was new to the world of 'AV' and from what I'd gleaned from the forums was that these were good makes!

I confess to deliberating for a while before we took the plunge to drive over an hour to Creative Audio to pick up the gear. However, the...
