Vegetarian diets and nausea...

Posted 16-01-2009 at 1:19 PM by LFC_SL

That annual event after each New Year where people sober up and also promise not to be a 'casual smoker' again...

Well for the finances and for jokes I've been sticking with a veggie diet. Been going 2 weeks now

Onset of nausea last night after I accidentally missed a meal and went to bed. I am happy to report I can stick at it because its next door's paint fumes

C'est la vie

The price of your precious eyesight

Posted 12-08-2008 at 10:12 PM by LFC_SL

It occurred to me in the past 2 years I have spent a fortune on two eye tests, four pairs of glasses and contact lenses. Definitely approaching the magical £1000 figure

True I could say not break frames like they are going out of fashion but you live and learn painful lessons. And there are worse expenses than your eyesight

Have been a Specsavers customer. Then a detour to glassesdirect.co.uk who are a good deal cheaper. And last week Vision Express. At least the 2 year...

Free first class train ticket and chai

Posted 04-02-2008 at 6:34 PM by LFC_SL

Wow what a surprise! My travel plans for Manchester Piccadilly -> London Euston were severely disrupted owing to the overrun engineering works at Rugby over the New Year one month ago...

But in my email inbox Virgin have given me a complimentary first class return ticket! Always maintained Virgin are the best train company in the country and their reputation is only further enhanced in my eyes given that I have already received a refund for the original journey I was unable...

Not drinking

Posted 30-11-2007 at 1:02 AM by LFC_SL

But I have stumbled across a 3 for £10 wine offer at a well known merchant

Wine doesn't count as its healthy

Now on bottle 2/4 (bought only 1 bottle before realising there was an offer on! Doh!)

Still can't taste different fruits (does it count towards my five a day?) or whatnot but I am acquiring a taste for wine now. Much nicer than beer and lager with image and health benefits too!

Could get used to the stuff

Sleep: Vastly underrated

Posted 20-11-2007 at 11:59 PM by LFC_SL

My laptop says the time is 23:52 as I type this...

I finally get an early night! Sleep is so good. It loves you unconditionally. It is warm. It is kind. It is loving. It embraces you. Its sooo fantastically brilliant!

I've missed it. And its missed me. I love the night... so calm and peaceful. You can hear the trees softly moving in the gentle wind whistling past your ear... but I am doing myself the favour of being a normal just this once and catching my Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
